Fans of Emmerdale are set for a drama-fuelled week in the Dales

Emmerdale star Lucy Pargeter has warned fans that ‘no one gets out unscathed’ in the upcoming limo crash scenes.
Lucy joined the soap in 2002 to take on the role of Chastity ‘Chas’ Dingle, and also appeared in the 2010 spin-off film, The Dingles: For Richer, For Poorer. In recent episodes, she’s reignited her relationship with Dr. Liam Cavanagh after he comforted her when she became worried her breast cancer was returning.
On New Year’s Eve, the ITV soap teased fans with five harrowing flash forwards to give a taste of what to expect in 2025. One scene saw a body bag being chucked into a river, Mackenzie running through the woods in another, Cain Dingle stood at a grave, Caleb flatlining in hospital and one hand trapped under an icy lake.
While viewers have assumed the body bag is linked to Anthony Fox being murdered, it appears that they’re now about to find out who could be trapped under the ice and why Caleb is fighting for his life.
It’s been confirmed that Cain, Caleb, Bear, Paddy, Mackenzie, Matty, Sam, Liam, Chas, Kerry, Tracy, Leyla, Suzy, Amy, Vanessa, Charity and Mandy are all potentially at risk of reaching an untimely end.
While the soap has said that two limos will crash in separate instances, viewers will have to wait and see which one ends up submerged in the frozen lake.

Speaking of the horror crash, Lucy teased: “There are some harrowing stories, it’s not an easy watch. It’s not an easy demise of anybody. No one gets out unscathed one way or another in either this story or the stories that fan out from this event.”
Chas will be unaware that Liam is secretly planning to propose on Valentine’s night before the events unfold. Liam ends up buying most of the raffle tickets in the hope he’ll win a night in the limo, but when Kerry wins instead, he tasks Suzy with finding another limo.
As one limo is used for a boys’ night out and the other for the girls’, it seems as though Liam’s plans are thwarted at every turn.
Director Vicky Thomas commented: “I’m incredibly proud of what we are putting together and I am so grateful I got the opportunity to direct these episodes as they have been absolutely the highlight of my career to date.
“I loved the whole process, from the initial planning stages right the way through the shooting, with all the night shoots, to the final stages where we are now – the edit and the post production. It has been one of the best things I have ever done.”
She added: “I think the audience will see the characters in ways that they have never seen before. And the repercussions of what happens over this night will go on for a very long time. And I think some things will even change forever from them. As there are some who do not make it because of what happens to them.”
